1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using nint ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

"Service" refers to the nint website (nint.app), mobile applications, desktop applications, and all related services provided by nint Technologies ("we," "us," "our").

2. Description of Service

nint is a privacy-first personal finance application that allows you to:

• Track expenses and income
• Create and manage budgets
• Set financial goals
• Link bank accounts for automated tracking (Pro tier)
• Access AI-powered financial insights (Pro tier)
• Sync data across devices via encrypted iCloud

nint uses a local-first architecture. Your financial data is stored on your device and optionally synced through your personal iCloud account with end-to-end encryption.

3. Accounts

Registration

You must create an account to use nint. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Keep your login credentials secure
• Notify us immediately of unauthorized access at support@nint.app
• Be responsible for all activity under your account

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use nint. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.

Account Security

We support authentication via email magic links, passkeys, password (hashed with Argon2id), and Sign in with Apple. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your authentication credentials.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

Plans

nint offers the following plans:

• Free: Core budgeting features, up to 2 accounts
• Plus ($3.99/month or $47.88/year): Unlimited accounts, advanced features
• Pro ($7.99/month or $95.88/year): Account linking, AI features, priority support
• Add-ons: Available for purchase separately (e.g., FIRE Module at $1.99/month)

Billing

• Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis
• Payment is processed by Stripe
• Prices are in USD unless otherwise stated
• We may change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers

Free Trial

New users may receive a 14-day free trial of Pro features. You will not be charged until the trial ends, and you can cancel before it expires.

Cancellation

• You may cancel your subscription at any time via Settings → Subscription
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
• You retain access to paid features until your period expires
• No partial refunds for unused time within a billing period

Refunds

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee for first-time subscribers. Contact support@nint.app within 30 days of your first payment for a full refund.

5. Your Data

Ownership

You own all financial data you create, input, or import into nint. We do not claim any ownership or license to your financial data.

Local Storage

Your financial data is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to it and cannot retrieve it on your behalf. You are responsible for backing up your data.

Data Portability

You may export your data at any time in standard formats (CSV, JSON) via the app's export feature.

Account Deletion

Upon account deletion:

• All server-side data (email, subscription records, preferences) is permanently deleted within 30 days
• Your local financial data remains on your device until you delete it
• Active subscriptions are canceled (no further charges)

6. Account Linking (Pro Tier)

If you choose to link bank accounts:

• We use Plaid and/or Salt Edge as authorized third-party aggregation providers
• You authorize these providers to access your bank account information on a read-only, tokenized basis
• Transaction data retrieved via these providers is processed entirely on your device
• You can revoke access at any time
• We are not responsible for the accuracy or completeness of data provided by your financial institution through these services

7. AI Features

On-Device AI

By default, AI features process your data entirely on your device. No financial data is transmitted to external servers.

Optional Cloud AI

If you opt in to cloud-enhanced AI processing:

• You explicitly consent to temporary, encrypted transmission of relevant financial data
• Processing occurs in an isolated environment and data is immediately discarded
• Data is never used for model training, analytics, or any purpose beyond your immediate request
• You may revoke consent at any time

AI-generated insights are informational only. They do not constitute financial advice, tax advice, investment advice, or any professional advisory service. You should consult qualified professionals for financial decisions.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for illegal purposes
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
• Circumvent subscription restrictions or access controls
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Use the Service to send spam, phishing, or malicious content
• Share your account credentials with others
• Resell or redistribute access to the Service

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

9. Intellectual Property

Our IP

The Service, including its design, code, trademarks ("nint"), and content (excluding user data), is owned by nint Technologies and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our materials without permission.

Your Content

You retain all rights to data you input. By using the Service, you grant us only the minimal technical permissions needed to provide the Service (e.g., storing your email for authentication).

10. Disclaimers

No Financial Advice

nint is a tool for personal financial tracking and organization. We do not provide financial advice, tax advice, investment recommendations, or any professional advisory services. All AI-generated insights are informational only. You are solely responsible for your financial decisions.

Service Availability

We provide the Service on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure operation. Given our local-first architecture, core functionality (tracking, budgeting) works offline and does not depend on our servers.

Third-Party Services

We are not responsible for the actions, content, or practices of third-party services (Plaid, Salt Edge, Stripe, Apple) that you choose to use in connection with nint.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• We are not liable for loss of data stored locally on your device (including financial data, budgets, or goals)
• We are not liable for decisions you make based on information provided by the Service or its AI features

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless nint Technologies from claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Any content you submit through the Service

13. Dispute Resolution

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Informal Resolution

Before initiating formal proceedings, you agree to contact us at legal@nint.app to attempt resolution within 30 days.

Arbitration

If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration administered under the rules of the Swiss Chambers' Arbitration Institution, with the seat of arbitration in Zurich, Switzerland. The language of arbitration shall be English.

Exceptions

Either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction for intellectual property violations or unauthorized access to the Service.

Class Action Waiver

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis and waive the right to participate in class actions.

14. Termination

By You

You may terminate your account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by emailing support@nint.app.

By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Engage in fraudulent activity
• Fail to pay subscription fees after notice
• Remain inactive for more than 24 months (with 30 days' prior notice)

Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

• Your right to use the Service ends immediately
• Your local data remains on your device
• Server-side data is deleted within 30 days
• Outstanding payment obligations survive termination

15. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via:

• Email notification at least 30 days in advance
• In-app notification
• Updated "Last Updated" date

Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with changes, you may terminate your account before they take effect.

16. Miscellaneous

• Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and nint Technologies.
• Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
• Waiver: Failure to enforce a provision does not waive the right to enforce it later.
• Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms. We may assign ours in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice to you).
• Force Majeure: We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control.
